Ryanair and a host of other airlines have this afternoon cancelled scheduled flights to and from France because of strike action by French air traffic controllers.
The strike takes place from 6 p.m. this evening until 6 a.m. Friday morning.
However flights out of Dublin appear to be operating as usual this evening. Aer Lingus and Air France are the only airlines that fly the France-Ireland route and a spokesperson for Aer Rianta said there were no disruptions on these operations.
Airlines operating out of Britain appear to be worse effected. A spokesperson for Ryanair said all of their 32 flights into and out of France this evening and tomorrow had been canceled. Alternative flight dates and refunds are being offered.
British Midlands’ website says they have canceled three flights this evening from London to Nice and Paris along with all of flights to and from France tomorrow.
The airline Go has canceled two flights today on the London to Nice route and tomorrow is re-routing all flights through Genoa with a coach taking passengers to and from Nice.
Normal services are set to resume on Friday.
