Five inmates at a US prison were shot by guards after a riot broke out.
Folsom State Prison spokesman Luis Patino said none of the gunshot wounds was believed to be life threatening.
He said correctional officers opened fire as they tried to break up the riot involving about 200 inmates that broke out at the California facility.
Three inmates were transported to area hospitals and two others were treated on the scene.
