Three men and two women have been arrested in connection with the murder of Lee Slattery in Limerick two weeks ago.
The body of Mr Slattery (24), Ballynanty, Limerick city, was discovered by his father in a shallow grave near the Moyross housing estate in Limerick on April 30th. He had been shot in the head.
The men and women were arrested in Limerick at 7.40am this morning, and are being detained at Henry Street, Mayorstone and Roxboro Road Garda stations in the city.
The five, ranging in age from 19 to 27, are being held under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act and can be detained for up to 72 hours.
