A company that makes sensory technology for video games is suing Microsoft and Sony.
Immersion Corp said its patents on the technology that causes a joystick to shake in time with an onscreen explosion are being infringed.
Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation systems both have games with tactile feedback technology.
The Californian firm said it has tried to negotiate a settlement with Sony and Microsoft but decided it needed to sue in federal court to enforce its patents.
