Weapons were seized and a man in his fifties arrested after a raid in Finglas yesterday afternoon.
A rifle and ammunition were taken by members from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation from premises on Cappagh Road at around 4.00 p.m.
The search took place as part of Operation Delivery, which targets raids of cash deliveries.
The arrested man is being held in Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
In a separate investigation, two sawn-off shotguns and a number of cartridges together with a bag containing balaclavas and gloves were seized by Members of the Detective Unit in Ronanstown in an area of Palmers Avenue, Palmerstown. The seizure took place around 3.45 p.m. yesterday.
All firearms have been sent to the technical bureau for examination.
