Dublin Fire Brigade's Decontamination Unit has been called out to investigate several suspect packages today as part of the ongoing anthrax scare.

The latest incident involved a package that was found in Ballyfermot earlier this afternoon.

"There are scares all the time and we usually send out a senior officer and a fire crew to each incident, but I am expecting the number of incidents to decrease soon," said a Dublin Fire Brigade spokesman.

Earlier this morning gardaí sealed off the premises of a Dublin business on Byrne’s Lane off Pearse Street, after it received a package containing white powder.
