A Supreme Court decision today will determine whether the controversial plan to build a dual carriageway through the Glen of the Downs may proceed. Wicklow County Council has undertaken not to proceed with the £18.5 million road scheme until the legal action has finally been determined.
The proceedings were initiated by Mr Dermot Murphy, a computer technician formerly of Exchequer Street, Dublin, but now living in Galway, who was among a group of "eco-warriors" who protested against the plan by Wicklow County Council to build the 5 km dual carriageway.
