LEADER of the House. Mr Maurice Manning, said he had no doubt about the total support of Fianna Fail for the SDLR
Mr Manning had been asked by Mr Michael O'Kennedy (FF) about his recent statement that it was regrettable that all party support could not be maintained in this State for the SDLP.
Mr O'Kennedy was referring to recent criticism of Fianna Fail front bench Northern Ireland spokesman, Mr Ray Burke, by Mr Manning in the lead up to the British general election.
The former Fianna Fail Minister demanded to know on what basis Mr Manning made his remarks. If he consulted with the SDLP leadership, he would find there was no doubt in their minds as to his party's continued support for what they had been doing in the peace process. "There should be no doubt about our support for Government in relation to the role of Government in the peace process," added Mr O'Kennedy.
