FIANNA Fail will today publish plans for an academy for young drivers to help them to get cheaper car insurance.
The party will promise that if in government it will launch the academy, in centres around the country, to provide intensive courses which will be virtually full time.
The insurance industry will be obliged to give a discount to drivers who pass the course.
The academy will be created in conjunction with existing driving schools and the insurance industry. Some of the £28 million raised each year through the two per cent PMPA levy will be used to finance the academy.
