The Fianna Fail committee investigating payments to its politicians met yesterday to finalise the draft report into its inquiry.
The committee met the Dublin West TD, Mr Liam Lawlor, for the third time on Wednesday night to further question him about payments he received in the early 1990s. The committee had hoped to publish the report this week but could not do so until it had its final meeting with the TD.
The committee hopes to be in a position to start printing the report over the weekend. It is due to be presented to a meeting of the Fianna Fail parliamentary party next Wednesday afternoon.
The report is also likely to be considered by the Fianna Fail national executive next Thursday and will also be sent to the Flood Tribunal. A source said that all the notes taken during the committee's investigation would be given to Flood.
The report will not make recommendations about any individual, but will make general recommendations about planning changes.
