MONSIGNOR Denis Faul warned last night that the presence of the Parachute Regiment on the streets of Coalisland would heighten tension. The SDLP has raised the matter with the British and Irish governments in an attempt to pressurise security chiefs to reverse a decision to, send the Parachute Regiment back to the Co Tyrone town in June.
Six soldiers of the regiment were cleared of charges of assault, disorderly behaviour and criminal damage after pubs were damaged and customers injured in Coalisland in 1992.
