Ashley Houston (39) and his son Jonny (19) are in intensive care at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast after a device was hurled through the window of their cottage at Church Hill Road, Caledon, on Saturday night.

It is understood the victims were in a living room at the time. Detectives have not identified any motive for the attack but are treating it as attempted murder.

DUP peer Lord Morrow said: "The Caledon community has seen far too much of this sort of activity in the last few years, and concerns which have been raised will have to be addressed."
