The father of the girl in the "C" case has died. His body was taken from the Shannon in Limerick city at the weekend. He was buried in Dublin on Monday.
He came to prominence in 1997 after it emerged that his 13-year-old daughter had been raped and had become pregnant. Initially he publicly favoured an abortion for his daughter who had been taken into care by the Eastern Health Board. He later changed his view.
However, the High Court supported an EHB application to allow her to leave the country for the termination of her pregnancy, and this was done.
