The two main farm organisations have decided to participate in the new Programme for Prosperity and Fairness with the announcement yesterday by the Irish Farmers' Association of its qualified acceptance, writes Sean MacConnell.
The move follows last Friday's decision by the rival Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers' Association to take part in the programme.
The IFA said it would participate subject to a review in September of the progress made in implementing the commitments set out in the programme.
