A family of four has escaped uninjured after petrol bombs were hurled at their home along a north Belfast sectarian flashpoint.
The house at Serpentine Gardens sustained scorch damage and their car, which was in the driveway, was destroyed in the attack which began at around 12.30 a.m.
The scene of the attack is close to where a blast bomb slightly hurt three police officers and two soldiers during a disturbance early yesterday.
The husband and wife living in the house were in the living room and their two sons were upstairs when a number of petrol bombs were thrown at it.
Yesterday the five security personnel were hurt in a blast bomb explosion and then attacked by a group of nationalist youths on the Whitewell Road while responding to a call there.
