Met Éireann has forecast dry, settled weather for the weekend and according to AA Roadwatch, traffic nation-wide is expected to be light with no serious delays.

South western areas had a bit of rain today, but most areas have been dry, if not particularly warm.

There will be long periods of sunshine tomorrow, though it will feel cool, with highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees Celsius.

Sunday will have good sunny spells, with temperatures getting up to the dizzy heights of 15 or 16 degrees Celsius.

In Dublin this evening, there’s heavy traffic in both directions approaching the M50 Tollbridge, but it is moving well so far. In Clondalkin, a truck has pulled down overhead wires at the Lock & Key Pub.

In Limerick, traffic is heavy both ways on the Dublin Road and the city centre is slow this afternoon.

In Kildare, there are reports of 15 minute delays southbound at Monasterevin.

In Galway, traffic is moving well on the N6, the N18 and the N17.

Cork city and county traffic is moving well on the N25 through Waterford. There are no problems reported on the N20 through Mallow and on the N8 approaching Cork city.

In Kilkenny city, a Pan-Celtic Festival parade may cause some delays today between Market Yard and the Castle. There are some parking restrictions in place at the moment and drivers not going to the city are advised to use the by-pass instead.
