The Football Association said today it was seeking urgent talks with UEFA after two Ipswich players were racially abused during a match with Yugoslav side FK Sartid yesterday.
Ipswich's Marcus Bent, scorer of the winning goal, and Finidi George were on the receiving end of racist chants and spitting by home fans.
"We will be seeking urgent talks with UEFA," said David Davies, the FA's director of international strategy.
"We need to step up the way in which we are looking at this issue - it is a worrying trend that it is the English clubs who seem to be suffering the most.

Ipswich's 1-0 win took them into the second round of the UEFA Cup.
