A truck carrying explosive material has crashed into the front of a shop in Moneygall, Co Offaly, that US president Barack Obama is due to visit next month.
The incident occurred at approximately 7.30am when the truck collided into the front wall of O'Donovan's grocery and hardware shop on Main Street in Moneygall.
The shop is owned by the O'Donovan family, who also own the ancestral home of Mr Obama.
The truck was carrying potentially explosive material between depot points when it crashed.
Fire trucks from both Roscree and Cloughjordan were called to the scene by gardaí at 7.40am. A water tanker from Nenagh was also called as a precaution in case of a large explosion.
A spokesman for the Tipperary Fire Services said although the truck was carrying explosive material, this was kept separate from the detonators. The front of the shop was damaged, and a window was broken in a crash.
The driver of the truck did not sustain any serious injuries.
The truck has been towed away and is being kept under Garda supervision. The scene was cleared at about 9.30am.
