The President, Mrs McAleese, opened an exhibition of artwork made from flowers which were dedicated to the victims of the Omagh bombing last August.

The Petals of Hope: Rays of Light exhibition at the Central Library in the Ilac Centre in Dublin comprises three large pieces of floral art made by schoolchildren from Omagh, Buncrana and Madrid. The children were supervised by textile designer Ms Carol Kane.

Many of those who worked on the pieces were close to those killed or injured in the bombing.
