An exhibition featuring the range of colourful characters associated with the historic St Michan's Church in Dublin was opened last night by the deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin, Alderman Senator Dermot Fitzpatrick.
"Raiders, Writers and Revolutionaries: St Michan's Through the Ages", which runs until September 26th, has been organised by the Dublin Heritage Group. St Michan's on Church Street is best known for its "mummies" but has numerous other claims to fame, including the fact that Handel practised on the organ there prior to the first performance of Messiah.
