BUCHAREST – Romania’s parliament approved a criminal investigation against a former youth and sports minister on suspicion of fraud in a €0.5 million public procurement case.
The inquiry against Monica Iacob-Ridzi (32), endorsed in a 192/35 vote, followed the European Commission’s annual report last week, which criticised Romania for not doing enough to combat graft. – (Reuters)
