GARDAI in Killaloe were said to be keeping an open mind on the death of Mr Oliver Moran (58) a former noted sports personality and businessman whose body was found in a partly decomposed condition on Tuesday at his home outside Newport, Co Tipperary, where he lived alone.

A post mortem was carried out at Limerick Regional Hospital yesterday. It is understood that death was due to natural causes.

Last December Mr Moran was tied up, robbed and seriously assaulted when two men and a woman broke into his home.

Gardai said that there was no evidence of a break in on this occasion. The discovery was made by one of his twin daughters, Mrs Grania Carey, who lives nearby. He had not been seen for more than a week.
