Accountancy and consulting firm Ernst & Young has announced it will create 300 jobs across Ireland over the next 18 months.
The recruitment drive will take place across its offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Belfast.
The company said the move came "in anticipation of the island of Ireland economy beginning to recover".
Ernst & Young is seeking to fill graduate positions and to hire qualified accountants and senior executives for its assurance, tax, advisory and transaction advisory services practices. A number of positions are also available on it fraud investigations and dispute services team.
Mike McKerr, managing partner for Ireland at Ernst & Young said the company was seeing new opportunities arise as businesses seek advice on cost reduction, growth and recovery from the financial crisis.
"We are confident of attracting outstanding new talent to help us deliver to our clients," he said.
In a separate development, insurance and reinsurance company Global Indemnity plc has announced plans to establish an IT operation in Cavan employing 30 people. The jobs will be supported by the IDA.
Larry Frakes, chief executive of Global Indemnity plc said: “Ireland is an excellent locale for our headquarters with a supportive environment and infrastructure from which to conduct an international business”.
