The manager of the Co Dublin equestrian centre where gardaí discovered a massive haul of cannabis resin this week has appeared at Dublin District Court on drugs charges.

Mr Ray Molloy (30), with an address at the Slade Valley Equestrian Centre, Rathcoole, was charged with possession of an illegal substance with intent to supply.

The court was told that when charged, Mr Molloy made no reply. He was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody to reappear in court next week.

Over 400 kilos of cannabis resin, worth an estimated €5 million, was seized when drugs squad detectives searched the premises in Rathcoole on Monday night. A number of weapons were also found.
