Workers at the Wellman International plant in Mullagh, Co Meath, are expected to accept new proposals to settle their 11 week strike when they meet this morning, writes Padraig Yeates, Industry and Employment Correspondent.
The company has said it will reopen the plant next Wednesday, even if the dispute is not resolved. Agreement has been reached on most of the strike issues. Pay remains the largest problem, with the workers looking for a 12 per cent increase and the company unwilling to go beyond 5 per cent.
Contact is continuing between SIPTU and the company.
