Employment in private firms (with five or more persons engaged) in the construction industry increased by 0.9 per cent in the 12 months between February 2002 and February 2003.
The monthly employment index increased from 140.2 in February 2002 to 141.4 in February 2003.
Employment decreased by 0.5% in the twelve months between January 2002 and January 2003.
The monthly indices is based on trends shown by a monthly employment sample inquiry covering approximately 1,000 private building and construction firms with 5 or more persons engaged.
