A woman in her 70s has died following a road crash near Newry.
The crash took place at the junction of the Old Warrenpoint Road and the A2 dual carriageway at Newry at about 12.30pm yesterday.
Nine people were killed on roads in the Republic over the bank holiday weekend, bringing to 120 the total number of fatalities to date. Ian Wall (24), of Crough, Coligan, Waterford, was a passenger in car that collided with a tractor and bailing machine at Ardmore, Co Waterford at 6.30pm on Saturday. He was taken to hospital but died of his injuries last night. The driver, David Wall (23) of Crough, Colligan, Waterford died on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Peter Dukelow (38), from Durrus, Bantry, Co Cork, died in a collision at Drimoleague, Co Cork, on Friday. A male pedestrian killed in Durrow, Co Laois, on Sunday has been named as Michael Walsh (43), from Tully, Connemara, Co Galway.
Patrick Kilkenny (63), of Tooma, Cloone, Co Leitrim, was killed on Saturday afternoon in Cloone. Denis Carroll (20), of Kilcoleman, Nenagh, Co Tipperary, died in a single-vehicle crash involving a tractor at about 2.15pm on Sunday at Carrigal, Carrigatogher, Nenagh.
Rita Crean (79), from Frenchville, Grattan Road, Co Galway, was killed at Rusheen, Galway, on Sunday, while two men killed in a motorcycle collision at Lixnaw, Co Kerry, on Sunday were named as David Flynn (36), of Bunagarha, Listowel, Co Kerry, and Owen McGillicuddy (19), of Gurtinard, Listowel.
