An elderly woman was killed when she was hit by a car in Co Galway last night.
The woman and her husband - both in their eighties - were struck by the car at Inverin, near Spiddal.
The woman was confirmed dead at the scene. Her husband, who is reported to be seriously injured, is being treated in hospital.
