Gardaí are searching for two men who are suspected of breaking an elderly man’s arm before attacking another three elderly men in two incidents in the midlands last night.
In the first incident a man in his late sixties was confronted at his caravan in Carbury, Co Kildare, by two men demanding money. A struggle ensued and the elderly man sustained a suspected broken arm. He was taken to Naas General Hospital for treatment.
A short time later two men entered a house in Edenderry, Co Offaly, and demanded money from three elderly male occupants. No one was seriously injured in this incident.
The were wearing dark clothes, caps and with their faces covered. At least one was armed with a hurley.
