Voluntary Service International (VSI) has just published International Volunteer Projects 2001 listing hundreds of voluntary projects in Europe (east and west), the US and Australia. Types of project include environmental, working with children, working with people with disabilities, restoration work and anti-racist projects.

VSI is the Irish branch of Service Civil International, a world movement working for peace and international understanding through voluntary work activities. The organisation says volunteers are needed to take part in projects with local community and voluntary organisations. Volunteers pay for their travel to the project; food and accomodation when you get there are provided.

You can get more information from Deirdre at VSI (01) 855 1011 or e-mail vsi@iol.ie. The booklet costs £3 and is available from Easons nationwide or from the VSI office at 30 Mountjoy Square, Dublin.
