University College Cork has launched its 2001 alumni achievement awards and wants UCC graduates, as well as members of the public, to submit nominations. There are two awards, the distinguished alumnus award and the alumnus merit award, which will be given for "outstanding contributions and achievements". UCC president Professor Gerard T Wrixon will present award recipients with a specially-commissioned silver trophy at a dinner on Saturday, November 3rd. Nominations should be in by Wednesday, October 10th.
