A video-making competition open to Transition Year students will be launched in tomorrow's media scope page in The Irish Times.

The competition - Comortas Foiseanna '98-'99 - is run by the Irish language TV station, TnaG. Students submit a script and a plan for the video they intend to make. Five scripts are chosen and made into a film of five to 10 minutes' duration, with a professional crew supplied by TnaG. The winning class, selected from the five finalists, goes on to compete in an international film festival in Italy!

For further details and an interview with last years competition winners - Mercy College in Sligo - check out media scope tomorrow.
