The Burning Question: What's your favourite story

My mum brought me a book home from work called Night Horse. I'm reading it myself. and it is a very long book with lots of chapters. The chapter I'm on at the minute is very scary and the main character is Michael. I hate fairytales - they are just so girly. I've read all the Harry Potter books and I think Harry is brilliant - I would love to be him and have an owl.

My favourite story is Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The best part of it is where she gets married and lives happily ever after. I have a book which has pictures in it that I like. The wicked stepmother thinks she is beautiful, she looks in the mirror and says: "Mirror, mirror on the wall." She would be scary in real life. I also like the story of Cinderella, but I don't think I'll marry a prince.

I like reading books in bed at night before I go to sleep. I like fairytales and adventures - I think reading adventure stories probably helps to make me more adventurous too. I haven't read any Harry Potter books and I don't want to because they're just too popular and everybody reads them. I think girls probably like fairy stories more than boys. I like the happy endings.

Stories are important. I read the first Harry Potter book and I liked the characters. There was nothing scary in it, it wasn't particularly funny either, but it was a good book. I don't really mind fairytales, but I don't like all of that happy ending stuff. The baddies are the best characters and it would be better if they could sometimes win in the end.

My favourite books are Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire or Roald Dahl books, especially The BFG because it is really funny. In films you can figure out what is going to happen before you can in a book because of some look a character gives. Adventure stories are good - I don't think they help me to be more brave because I'm not scared of anything anyway.
