Business teachers interested in developing entrepreneurial skills in their students should "build their own networks, contacts and resources", says Professor Patricia Fleming of UL's department of management and marketing.
She told delegates at the agm of the Business Studies Teachers' Association of Ireland in Thurles, Co Tipperary, that teachers can help motivate their students "to make decisions and translate them into actions under conditions of uncertainty" and also suggested teachers could "take opportunities in consultancy work for small businesses and possibly run their own small venture".
