A Soweto primary school has won the prestigious Rector's Gold Medal award for outstanding achievement in education.
The annual award from the Johannesburg College of Education (JCE) was presented this year to Lejoeleputsoa Primary School in Meadowlands, Soweto. The award recognises the work put in by staff since the school joined the School Wide Enrichment Project (SWEP) in 1997. The aim of the project is to concentrate on the development of teachers by increasing their confidence and competence through in-service training.
