Those of you paying attention will remember that Flunk.Net was the subject of one of the smaller reviews on this page a few weeks ago. Since then this site for third-level students has had several new features added. Flunk.Net focuses on non-academic aspects of college life, so as the summer holidays approach it merits a more in-depth treatment.
A new Jobseeker section contains a database of parttime and full-time jobs, posted on the site by employers, with everything from jobs for IT graduates to summer jobs at fast-food restaurants. The College News section is updated regularly with contributions from student newspapers. Flunk.Net also makes use of a variety of sources and contributors for entertainment news, reviews, music charts, listings and more.
A well managed classifieds section facilitates those desperately seeking accommodation, help with course work or simply a buyer for those unwanted books, CDs and the like, and there are always prizes to be won in the various competitions and giveaways
The most remarkable feature on Flunk.Net is the Psychic Blind Dating service - "all the fun of dating with only half the embarrassment". Flunk.Net's resident psychic checks your profile and schedules three "Cyber Blind Dates" for you. You are assigned a private area of the site's chat room where you and your date can get to know each other better . . .
Taking its name from the US slang verb meaning to fail exams, Flunk.Net is easy to navigate - and what you can't discern from the picture is the colourful design.
