My Primary Diary, published by the National Association for Parent Support, is designed to serve a two fold purpose to be a source of information as well as a keepsake.
The president of NAPS, Treasa Ui Mhartain, says the booklet was prepared to answer many of the questions NAPS had been asked over the years by parents. It includes a checklist of questions parents should ask about school. There is also a list of the things children should know like which shoes go on which feet and how to recognise their own clothing.
Contact numbers and addresses for organisations such as the Association for Gifted Children and the Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities are included. There is space for parents to fill in their children's medical history.
My Primary Diary costs £1.99 and is available from NAPS, Capoley, Portlaoise, Co Laois.
