Irish Science Teachers Association Conference
The Irish Science Teachers Association Conference takes place at the University of Limerick from Friday March 20th to Sunday, March 22nd. There will be a series of concurrent lectures and workshops with more than 50 national and international facilitators and speakers. Workshops will cover a diverse range of topics including biotechnology, green chemistry, physics, forensics and themes in primary science. The AGM of the ISTA and the annual dinner will also be part of the programme.

Lecture at Trinity College Institute of NeuroScience
Author of The Brain That Changes Itself Norman Doidge will give two talks at the Trinity College Institute of NeuroScience, Lloyd Building Room 11, on Thursday, March 19th from 6pm to 7.30pm and on Friday, March 20th from 11.30am to 1pm.

Seamus Heaney Lecture Series, St Patricks College
The final lecture in the Seamus Heaney Lecture Series takes place at St Patricks College, Drumcondra, on Monday, March 23rd at 8pm when Chrissie Poulter, School of Drama, Film and Music, TCD, will ask the question What's the story? . . . The teacher as artist ... The artist as teacher ... Theatre of the Oppressed.

Conference on Gifted Education
The Irish Centre for Talented Youth (CTYI) is conjunction with the Irish Association for Gifted Children is hosting a one-day conference on gifted education in the Nursing School, Dublin City University on Saturday, March 28th. Public talk on Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADD/ADHD, Autism, Aspergers
Aimed at educational and medical professionals/ parents. A public talk on neurodevelopmental difference and help with the Handle approach to be held from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday, March 27th. The cost €20. A two-day Handle introductory course will take place on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th. Cost €200.

Dyspraxia Association of Ireland Conference
The Dyspraxia Association of Ireland is holding its annual conference on Saturday, March 28th at the Clarion Hotel beside Liffey Valley. The c conference has the theme “Knowing no limits and moving on”. The keynote speaker is Dr Vincent Maloney, renowned expert on child and adolescent development with a particular interest in children with special educational needs. There will also be workshops on occupational therapy, counselling and education.
Open to all, the conference will be of interest to parents of children and teenagers with Dyspraxia/DCD and provides an opportunity to network with other parents. The association’s adult group will have representatives in attendance. Educators and clinical professionals are also very welcome. Templemichael College of Further Education – Longford Information/Open Evening Templemichael College of Further Education – Longford is holding an open evening on Thursday, April 2nd from 4.30pm to 6pm. The college offers a wide range of PLC courses commencing in September 2009.
