Women are still under-represented in business, politics and in decision-making bodies. Yet at the same time, more women than ever are going to universities and getting third-level educations.
Consequently, the Second Chance Education Project for Women is holding a conference entitled "Can we do it differently?" on May 26th at the Resource Centre in St Johnston, Co Donegal.
The conference is intended to stimulate discussion about how education can better meet women's needs and how it can influence social change. Speakers will include Mary B. Kelly, chair of Women's Aid, and Inez McCormack, president of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. For further information contact Kate Morgan (tel: (074) 28980).
