A FURTHER SERIES of 50 hour training courses for the Substance Abuse Prevention (On My Own Two Feet) Programme will begin next autumn. As of this June, 700 second-level teachers will have, been trained in the programme; information on the forthcoming courses has been sent to schools.

The SAPP philosophy is built "on the foundation of self-esteem, self-confidence, social skills, respect for others and clear information". It is a joint project of the psychological service in the Department of Education, the Health Promotion Unit and the Mater Dei Counselling Centre.
