PREPARE TO take to the stage. Into the Spotlight, a drama-in-education conference aimed at both primary and post-primary teachers, will be held at St Patrick's College, Drumcondra, Dublin, next month.

The three day event, which starts on Friday, November 22nd, is organised by the National Association for Youth Drama.

The conference will give participants a chance to explore and share new ideas and educational programmes which are suitable for a wide range of student ages and abilities.

The focus will he on highlighting the significance of an emerging national policy in relation to drama, and the role of drama teachers and leaders in informing and driving that policy.

The keynote address will he given by Emelie FitzGibbon, the founder and artistic director of Graffiti theatre company, and currently chairwoman of the National Association for Youth Drama and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment advisory sub-committee on drama.

The conference also includes workshops, seminars. a performance by the TEAM theatre company and the presentation of a progress report on the work of the Educational Drama Forum.
