The National Museum of Ireland is in the throes of a series of lectures focusing on 200 years of Irish Furniture. Still to come is a talk on Victorian Furniture on October 21st, a lecture on the life of industrial designer, Raymond McGrath, on October 28th, a talk by Megan McManus of the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum entitled Sitting, Eating, Sleeping and Keeping the Wind Out on November 11th and finally a session on contemporary Irish design by Hugh Wallace, president of the Society of Designers in Ireland, on November 18th. All talks take place at the National Museum, Collins Barracks at 6.30pm.
