The 30 students sitting yesterday's Leaving Cert construction studies papers at Presentation College, Carlow, emerged feeling contented, according to their teacher, Mr Noel O' Neill. The higher-level paper was very fair and provided a good spread of questions, he said. Questions were clear and unambiguous and students were able to guage what was required immediately. Students felt that they had sufficient time to do themselves justice.
Questions on the ordinary-level paper were equally clear and precise. It was important that students at this level could read the paper and immediately understand what they were dealing with.
"As a teacher I couldn't ask for more," Mr O'Neill commented.
