The CERT national craft certificate in hospitality skills is offered in nine institutes of technology across the State. The professional bodies for the industry are the Irish Hotel and Catering Institute and the Irish Hotels Federation.

Colleges offering hospitality skills and hospitality management arrange placements for students in organisations that implement the Irish Hotels Federation's quality employer programme.

Salaries depend on the size of establishment and the level of qualification. Hospitality managers generally earn the same as hotel managers, ranging from around £27,000 for a small three-star hotel to £60,000 for a large four-star hotel.
