There's good news for newly-appointed remedial teachers who must wait up to four years in some cases for a place on an induction course. The Dublin West Education Centre is starting a new course this afternoon.

In an effort to cope with the demand for these types of courses the centre will provide an induction programme, looking at the skills, knowledge and perspectives as well as the materials and resources required by a newly-appointed learning support teacher. It will be taught by Mary Coyne, of Scoil Talboid and Maura Sweeney, of Scoil Nano Nagle in Clondalkin. There are still places left on this course which starts today at 3.00 p.m. For more information contact the centre at telephone(01) 459 1816 or fax (01) 459 4882.
