There are no fees for PLC courses but you may be asked to pay for books, student services and exam fees. A deposit of up to £30 may be required to secure a place. This will be refunded on enrolment or may be held as a down payment against the charges already mentioned. A fee of £25 is charged for certification from the National Council for Vocational Awards. PLC students are eligible to apply for meanstested maintenance grants.

Students on the two-year applied languages and information technology course must do a placement abroad. All students receive a non-meanstested grant to cover essential insurance costs, 75 per cent of travel costs (maximum £300), and £100 a week towards living expenses abroad (maximum £1,700). The grant must be repaid if certain conditions regarding course attendance and certification are breached.
