Developing Policies for Children's Play is the title of a conference taking place this Friday in Trinity College Dublin.
It will look at moving away from reliance on fixed-equipment playgrounds; at considering play in the wider environment; at making neighbourhoods safer for children and more.
The speakers include Dr Richard Webb, a play consultant, who will look at public policy; Noirin Hayes, head of the school of social sciences, DIT; and Rob Wheway, play consultant.
Workshops will look at developing play policies, planning for play in an urban environment and play as a community issue. A new report will also be launched.
