A SELF-ACTUALISATION programme for the classroom, designed to address the problem of low self-esteem, was launched at the recent annual conference of the Association of Remedial Teachers of Ireland.
Written by Dr Reamonn O Donnchadha, a primary school principal, the programme consists of 36 reproducible worksheets with six worksheets each for the areas of identity, competence/mastery, worthiness, belonging, realistic concept of self and feelings.
The programme is the first of its kind to be published in Ireland, according to its publishers, Education, Training and Career Consult.
