Students at Senior College, Ballyfermot, Dublin, are at it again - broadcasting to the world at large! Tune in on short-wave, of all places, any day next week and, between 10 and 11 a.m., you'll here live broadcasts from the college. Emerald Radio's programme line-up includes an examination of the history of disco - DJ Kenny Carpenter of Studio 54 fame will be on hand to give first-hand impressions of the early disco years. Also expect programmes on fashion, the paranormal, underwater Ireland and people's perception of beauty. Some 35 students on Ballyfermot's radio broadcasting and journalism course are involved in Emerald Radio this year. For short-wave radio broadcasts tune into SW 5070 KHZ. (This frequency belongs to WWCR, an American broadcasting company, which has agreed to send out Ballyfermot's signal via satellite.)

Programmes are also available via the Internet (www.emeraldradio.com).
