THE intrepid members of the UCC science society established a time and date for their inaugural lecture on time travel, following some slight hiccups in the time space continuum.
The society had circulated details of the lecture, to be given by Dr Michel Van Dyck of the physics department, but ended its letter of notification with the rather deflating admission that the time and date had yet to be decided.
This rather scuppered any hopes that the problem of time travel might have been cracked by the Leesiders since, presumably, if it had, then Dr Van Dyck could have popped ahead in time, found out how the lecture went and nipped hack in time to add the missing details to their letter.
While Dr Van Dyck is unlikely to disappear into a blue police box and reappear suddenly at the Battle of Hastings, looking nonplussed and asking for directions home, the lecture does promise to be interesting.
It takes place in Aras na Macleinn, UCC's new student centre, at 7.00 p.m. tonight and all are welcome.
